From 2017-2020, our team successfully built a luxury travel-themed presence on Instagram. We grew our following to more than 220,000 travelers across the world before our page was acquired by an upscale media company based in New York City that specifically targets affluent clientele.
After 3 years of content creation partnerships with luxury brands such as Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts, Moet Hennessy, Visit California, Azure Beach Dubai, and many more, we knew that we wanted to build something even more impactful in the luxury travel space.
During a desert safari in Dubai, our founder Connor Keane was reflecting on all of his travels across the world, and he realized that he has a very special, almost spiritual connection to the destinations he's visited due to sharing experiences with loved ones and locals alike. These memories include snorkeling through the vivid cyan waters of Exuma, and skydiving over the Palm in Dubai.
Connor had conversations with other luxury travelers and uncovered that they too had emotional connections to destinations they've visited and wanted to express these personal memories in some shape or form during their travels. The idea for Jet Set Black was born.
After hours upon hours of market research, we discovered that there is a major storytelling gap in the luxury travel market for arguably the most important product in the travel space - luggage.

About Our Founder
My name is Connor Keane, and I am the Founder and CEO of Jet Set Black.
I don’t have the most ‘typical’ path to the luxury travel industry. I was involved in sports more than anything else while I was growing up. So much so, that I walked on at the University of Iowa to play football as a Wide Receiver and played for the Hawkeyes for 4 years.
Playing football at Iowa taught me how important attention to detail is in every aspect of life, whether it's during a workout or when I'm perfecting the design of a Duffle bag. This focus and attention to detail on the seemingly unimportant tasks will stay with me for the rest of my life.
During my time at Iowa, I was an Elite Member of the U of Iowa’s Entrepreneurship program and launched Global Travelers – a luxury travel- themed Instagram page that grew to 220k+ followers, and we partnered with companies such as Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts, Moet Hennessy, Visit California, The Lodge at Torrey Pines, Skydive Dubai, and many more.
Throughout these partnerships, I truly fell in love with the luxury travel space, and a big reason was due to my partners’ attention to detail and impeccable service.
